During her travels across the globe, designer Briana Erin has collected antique coins from their native regions. She incorporates fragments and elements into her designs, creating wearable, historic treasures. Each coin holds a unique history, which can be seen on our Coin History page. The coins in her designs are reproductions or sections taken from the originals.
Coin history:
Claudius II, commonly known as Claudius Gothicus, was Roman emperor for a couple years, from 268 to 270 AD. He fought successfully against Germanic and Gothic tribes. He died of a plague while preparing for another war campaign against the Vandals, and the Roman Senate quickly deified him. The 'DIVO CLAUDIO' inscription on the coins means 'Deified Claudius' or 'Saint Claudius'. These coins were struck in the name of Claudius II for about a year after his death.
The obverse shows Claudius wearing a radiate crown. The Roman coins didn't explicitly state the denomination, and this radiate crown meant that coin was an antoninianus. The reverse shows an eagle. Minted, roughly, AD 270.

Weighty and substantial but slim enough for very small hands to remain comfortable. I went with EF and it has been very consistent without skipping or issue. The clip is tight enough to perform adequately.
Anemoia was nice enough to juice up my pen at a pen show with Tom’s Studio ink and I was thrilled. Will be stopping by the store for more goodies soon.
Fabulous pen. I love how well the shape of the bulbous part seats in my hand with well balanced weight. I love that the brass nib holder is easily adjusted to suit an angle that works best for me, and that it is capable of use for left, and right handed persons.
